Crystal Skulls – Lia Scallon
Irish-born singer and sound healer Lia Scallon who lives in Australia, is the channel for the Sounds of Sirius – exquisite sacred voice music accompanied by Light Language. The Crystal Skulls
We live in an age of prophecy.
Now is the time of return of the grandmothers and grandfathers.

The Vale of Tears, the Nine Hells, is over
And it is time to prepare for the 13 Heavens.

These are the words of Mayan Priest and Shaman Don Alejandro Cirilo Oxlaj Peres. Also known as Wandering Wolf, Don Alejandro is Day Keeper of the Mayan calendar which describes the evolution of consciousness, and outlines the cosmic, biological, historical evolution of our universe. He is responsible for guiding us through a time that has been prophesied by many of the indigenous peoples of the world – the Mayans, the Hopi Indians and others – a time of evolutionary transition called the Shift of the Ages.
The Mayans tell us that at the end of every 26,000 years, our planet enters a new cycle. With the end of the current Mayan Calendar in 2012, we are now at the very end of one of those cycles. We’re moving into a new world – out of the fourth world and into the fifth.
Don Alejandro has said that this transition will not necessarily occur on the specific date of December 21st, 2012, as many people have predicted. He tells us that we are already within the window of time when a shift in the magnetic poles of the planet may occur. He assures us however, that this event is not something to fear. This need not be the end of life on earth; rather, it is an opportunity for humanity to live in a new way.
Many of us have become aware that a major change in human consciousness has indeed already begun. We are seeing the old structures begin to fall away; our masks are dropping; little by little we are raising our vibration, which is preparing us for that quantum leap into the New World.
As we embrace these great changes, we are being given great assistance from the Spirit realms – reassurance that we’re not alone in this Universe. I believe the re-emergence of the Crystal skulls is an integral part of that support system we’re being offered.
Like some of you who may be reading this, I knew virtually nothing about the crystal skulls, until quite recently. Years ago, I had heard something about an amazing crystal skull which was supposed to have other worldly powers. I now know this skull to be the Mitchell Hedges skull but at the time, I didn’t feel any need to find out more. It wasn’t until I took part in a spiritual journey to the Mayan Lands in Mexico in December 2006, that I was again made aware of the Crystal Skulls.

Legends about the Crystal skulls are found in the lore of many of the world’s indigenous cultures – legends that have been passed down from generation to generation for thousands of years. This in itself is a most unusual and it gives an indication of the power of the Crystal skulls.

It’s believed that some of the original 13 skulls of the ancient legends have already been found, in parts of Mexico and Central, and South America. This has become one of the most fascinating subjects of 20th Century archaeology, as some of these skulls are believed to be between 5,000 and 36,000 years old. Most of those discovered to date, have been found near the ancient ruins of either the Mayan or Aztec civilizations, with some evidence, also linking the skulls with Peru.
The ancient legends reveal that the Mayans, the Aztecs, Native Americans and the Atlanteans, all used the crystal skulls as powerful tools for healing Body Mind and Spirit. Stories about the skulls repeatedly speak of their remarkable magical and healing properties.
The Crystal Skulls have also been described as the computers of the ancients – receptacles that contain ancient wisdom which when accessed, will give to humanity the knowledge of how we should live. It’s not surprising then that many people believe that there is a connection between the crystals skulls and the end of the Mayan Calendar.
Categories of Crystal Skulls
There are three different categories of crystal skulls spoken about in the world today: the Ancient skull, the Old skull and the Modern skull.
The Ancient Skull – is a crystal skull that was fashioned at least 1500-2000 years ago.. There are only a small number of such crystal skulls known publicly. Generally speaking, a skull is identified as ancient, when there are no detectable tool marks upon the surface. The Mayans believed that these skulls were not made by human hand. The ancient skulls have been found to have a very intense and powerful energy field surrounding them, which many people are able to sense or feel.
The second category of skull – An Old Skull – is a crystal skull that was created between 100 to 1000 years ago. Again most of these have been discovered within or near ancient ruins, in Mexico or Central America. In general, their appearance is somewhat crude in form and when closely examined, you can usually see some type of tool marks, left by its carver.
The third type of skull is A New or Contemporary Skull – manufactured by modern carvers. There are thousands of such skulls in existence today. They come in all shapes and sizes and are carved mainly by carvers in Brazil and China.
Despite much research being done on the ancient skulls, they seem to defy logic – their origin is a baffling mystery. Everything tells us that these skulls should have been shattered, fractured, or fallen apart when carved; it seems they could not possibly have been carved, by human hand.
Pueblo Native American teacher Patricio Dominguez echoes the Mayan belief that the Crystal Skulls were not made by human hands…
“You must realize that the crystal skulls are actually living depositions of knowledge. Though they are made of crystal they have their own sense of consciousness. They have a sentience within themselves and they were constructed in a very special way using psychic forces. We think of crystal as dead matter but it is really more like a living plasma that has a relationship directly with our own thoughts and with the mind of God.
“The original crystal skulls were not really chiselled or sanded into shape, as some people believe, but they were molded into shape by psychic forces so that they actually describe and define the thoughts and mental process of we human beings. They were shaped by the consciousness of those earliest people or beings that actually put them together using their own particular psychic potentialities.
“The skulls are here to help us to change our own state of consciousness, to teach us that the world, indeed the universe, is a living almost breathing spiritual entity. Everything has a soul. The universe is a sacred living and spiritual being. And we are part of that creature, part of its essence, part and parcel of that living and sacred whole. We must learn to respect all things, both the living and what we think of as dead. For it will soon be time for us to fulfill our greater fuction and take up our rightful place in the greater consciousness of all things.”
What makes a Crystal Skull powerful?

Many reports from all over the world illustrate that people’s lives have been profoundly affected after having had an opportunity to spend time in the presence of one of the ancient crystal skulls.
And this type of phenomena is now happening around contemporary carved Crystal Skulls’ also. People are now finding that ‘modern’ skulls can be just as powerful as ‘ancient’ skulls. In truth, all Crystal Skulls should be considered ancient because they are all made from crystal, and all crystal is millions of years old!
It would seem that some of the powerful frequencies held within the Crystal skulls belong to the actual skull form itself, and some to the crystal material from which it’s made. Skull carvers do say that as soon as the eyes are carved, there’s a shift in energy – the skull is there!
Crystal is considered sacred by most indigenous people who believe that it comes from the heavens. It is also known that crystal emits pietzo electric energy. Piezo-electric quartz was discovered by Pierre and Jacques Curie in the late 1800s. The term comes from the Greek word meaning ‘to squeeze’, and electrose, meaning ‘to get a charge from’. Crystal actually has a positive and negative polarity just like a battery. If pressure is applied, it is capable of generating electricity.
This piezo-electric effect – ie electric sparks – generated by the crystal, create magnetic energy that affects our Pineal gland. Our pineal gland is our psychic centre and it is exquisitely sensitive to changes in the earth’s magnetic field. From a physical perspective alone then, it’s not surprising that we can feel something in the presence of a crystal skull.
A man called August who is one of the modern carvers of crystal skulls has given a wonderful description of how combining the skull shape with the crystal material, can result in a powerhouse of energy…
“There is a great world, of deep metaphysical potential, in quartz crystal. I think it is very unique …Then you have the human skull which is the single greatest item in all of creation that we’re aware of. It is our link to Mind and Everything in existence. It houses all of our most evolved senses – optical, auditory, and olfactory – which is the passage for the most essential thing to us – prana in air. It gives the ability to take in nutrient; it is the mechanical means for vocalization. It is the home of the third eye and the crown chakra. All these things…it keeps, organized, compact, functioning, and protected in such a small durable package. Combining these two ultimate items in one form, is definitely a formula for creating a potentially massively charged item. I’m not sure that it is so deeply significant, when, in time and history, a crystal skull is created, or even how it is, that makes it so special.”
Research on the Crystal Skulls
The over-riding message carried within all the legends of the crystal skulls is that somehow, these objects hold the key to allow us to access vast areas of ancient knowledge.
From a scientific point of view, this may not be so far fetched. The use of quartz crystal in modern day technology absolutely confirms the amazing ability of quartz to store information. Quartz crystals are used in just about every modern electronic device, from computers to televisions, to telecommunication satellites. If a tiny silicon chip can have such incredible storage capacity and the ability to hold electrical energy under control and oscillate at a constant and precise frequency, why wouldn’t a crystal skull be capable of storing information and sending out electrical impulses, or vibrating waves of information?
So Crystal skulls could indeed then, as the Maya suggest, be likened to some sort of ancient radio, or computer device for communicating between the worlds. Perhaps they create a sort of doorway into other dimensions – a means of communicating with the world of the ancestors, whose knowledge was placed within it.
The World Mystery Research Centre, conducted research with crystal skulls over a four year period from 2001 to 2004 where they used Electronic devices to measure the energetic effect of the crystal skulls upon the test subjects. Their findings caused them to believe that the skulls act as a catalyst which produces for may people, an awakening of some higher or hidden aspect of their being, helping them to realise more of their true inner potential.
They found that the skulls brought more harmony and balance in the bio-magnetic field of the physical body of the participants, as physical, emotional and karmic blocks were released. Many people reported profound changes occurring in their lives.
Some of the ancient skulls have also revealed information through psychics which confirms that the skulls store information. Psychic Carole Wilson worked for many years with the world’s most famous Crystal Skull – the Mitchell Hedges skull.
This skull conveyed to her that it was ‘thought process, crystallized’. It said that when all the original skulls came together, mankind would be ‘the keepers of wondrous knowledge’. It said that Light and Sound would be the keys to unlocking the ancient wisdom of the skulls.

Based on the research that has been done on the Crystal skulls, I believe these objects demonstrate a number of qualities which suggest they can be potent healing tools for us on our spiritual journey today, just as they were for our ancient ancestors. Crystal skulls have demonstrated that….
They are receptacles of information
They transmit and amplify energy and information…
They expand our awareness …
They support healing and enhance psychic awareness…
They change our brain wave frequencies and help us to meditate…
They are Mirrors to the soul, reflecting back to us who we really are…
They help us to reconnect with Mother Earth…
They help us to return to the Heart
And all Crystal skulls have these qualities, not just the ancient ones, although, of course, the ancient ones have trained and guided us.
Activating a Crystal Skull
Crystal skulls activate us, but we also need to activate them. The skulls seem to ‘come alive’ when they come in contact with people and when they are being used.
How do we do activate a crystal skull? Primarily, I think we do it with our desire and intention to become one with the skull. And from my personal experience, in combination with this heart desire, you can also use sound to help activate the skull. The information Carole Wilson received from the Mitchell Hedges skull about Sound and Light being the keys, seems to verify the potential of sound in unlocking the information within the Crystal skulls.
Jaap Van Etten – caretaker of the skull Sam – has made some very interesting comments about activating and working with the skulls. He says:-
“When a contemporary skull is carved it is like a blank slate. It contains earth information, but no other information has been downloaded. Whether this will happen depends on the caretaker and what (s)he does with this skull. Bringing the skull to sacred places, bringing it into contact with other skulls, especially ancient ones, and allowing people to work with them, will increase the information stored. In this way crystal skulls become an increasingly valuable tool on our path of transformation.”
On receiving my first skull – although I knew nothing about crystal skulls at the time – I somehow instinctively, knew this to be true.

Which is why I started to bring my skulls to any place I believed had high vibrational or sacred energies, and into the presence of other ancient and powerful skulls.

It’s also the reason I committed to make my skulls available to others. I’ve come to realise that Crystal skulls have the ability to hold very high vibrational energy. All Crystal Skulls seem to be connected to each other energetically and they have the ability to transmit these vibrational frequencies to others. As I’ve witnessed the profound experiences people have had in the presence of my Crystal Skulls and my channelled, sacred song, I’ve realized that something quite extraordinary and important is unfolding in these moments.
The Sounds of Sirius and the Crystal Skulls
As a channel for the Sounds of Sirius, I am the conduit for sacred voice music, accompanied by a Light Language, which Spirit has conveyed to me is the ‘true language of Sirius’; the language before language was recorded; the root of all language. I describe the work as Soul Healing because these sacred harmonics seem to carry within them, a gift of deep healing, nourishment and comfort for the soul. I believe that the ‘Sounds of Sirius’ bring us the gift of soul healing.

We’re rediscovering now, that Sound is one the most transformative and healing energies on the planet. The Ancient Mystery Schools of Greece, Rome, Egypt, Tibet and India, all considered sound to be the primary creative force in the universe and some of them believed that the world actually came into being, through sound.
The Ancients knew what modern physicists have come to understand – that everything in our universe is a constant state of vibration. Sound can affect us on all levels of our being. Beneficial sounds are often those that we consider ‘sacred’ – and these sacred sounds have the ability to charge and harmonize us.
The Sounds of Sirius are being gifted to us, from a very high spiritual realm which is why they have the ability to impact our whole being – our body, mind and spirit . These melodies and words have the power to shift the vibrational frequency of those who are receiving them, allowing them to awaken, to heal and to activate their own gifts. The most common response people have when hearing these melodies and Light Language is that they feel like they’ve come home. Which is I think, exactly what is happening – they are coming home to the remembrance of their own soul’s essence…..
My personal work with the Crystal skulls is very intuitive. To begin with I wasn’t quite sure at all, what I was doing with the Crystal skulls or why I was so drawn to work with them! However, from my first phenomenally powerful meeting with the Mayan skull in the Yucatan in 2006, I’ve had a deep ‘knowing’ that in some way my sacred song activates the skulls.

As the years have passed, I’ve received a clearer vision of my role with them. I believe that my ‘job’ is to activate both the skulls and people through the sacred harmonics and Light Language I feel privileged to be the conduit for. I feel that the Sounds of Sirius are helping to harmonize and align the Crystal skulls into a Grid of Light. Once that Grid is fully aligned, all sorts of people who are ‘asleep’ will begin waking up to the remembrance of who they really are and why they are here. As each one of us works with the Crystal skulls and connects with them in our own unique way, we become a critical part of that Grid of Light. The larger and brighter this Grid becomes, the easier it will be for others to awaken and become part of it too!
These beautiful Crystal Guardians are helping us to reactivate memories that lie deep within us. They are reconnecting us with Universal Source energy and knowledge; they are mirrors to our own souls reflecting back to us who we really are as they help us to access the Divinity within ourselves; they are reminding us of our inter-dimensional and inter-galactic origins; they are Guardians of Light who help us to expand our consciousness, guiding us along the path to Mystical Transformation.
I believe that the Crystal Skulls are agents for healing and teachers of Love, who are helping us to co-create the New World heralded in the prophecies of the indigenous nations. Ultimately, they are showing us that we are in the process of becoming the ‘Crystal Heads’ ourselves! As we raise our vibration and expand our consciousness, we too are becoming crystalline beings – vessels and conduits for the purest Universal Light and Knowledge.
If you open yourself and listen to them, the Skulls will lead you to the people and places you need for your soul’s development. I’ve seen this happen magically, time and again. Sit with them; meditate with them; and trust your own inner knowing and discernment when they reveal information to you.

Everything that we do ripples outwards energetically, like a stone dropped into a pond. As each individual Crystal Skull caretaker communicates and works with their own skull or skulls, that energy and information will also ripple out into the greater world. Who knows what effect that is having and will continue to have on our Planet?
